PASSIVE VOICE

    Passive voice adalah suatu bentuk gramatikal dimana subjek kalimat tidak melakukan aksi melainkan menerima hasil dari aksi atau sebuah tindakan, aksi di tindaklanjuti oleh agen lain atau yang disebutkan/tidak.

 

1.       Simple Present tense

 

Active = S + v1 + direct object.

 

-          People makes books from trees.

-          Dini plays a doll.

-          They bring a lot of meals

 

Passive = S (Direct object) + is/am/are + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

 

-          Books are made by trees.

-          A doll is played by Dini.

-          A lot of meals are brought by them

 

2.       Present Continuous Tense

 

Active = S + is/am/are + present participle (V1 + ing) + direct object

 

-          The researcher is using a lot of method

-          I am looking for a job.

-          They are playing some games

 

Passive = S (direct object) + is/am/are + being + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

 

-          A lot of method is being used by the researcher

-          A job is being looked by me

-          Some games are being played by them

 

3.       Present Perfect Tense

 

Active = S + have/has + V3 (past participle) + direct object

 

-          She has sung a song

-          I have studied this math theories.

-          They have looked for some meal

 

Passive = S (direct object) + have/has + been + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

 

-          A song has been sung by her.

-          Math theories has been studied by me

-          Some meal has been looked by them

 

4.  Simple Past Tense


Active = S + V2 + direct object

 

-          I passed in the park.

-          They visited their mom.

 

Passive = S (direct object) + was/were + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

 

-          The park was passed by me

-          Their mom was visited by them

 

5.       Past Continuous Tense

 

Active = S + was/were + present participle (V1 + ing) + direct object

 

-          The researcher was using a lot of method

-          I was looking for a job.

-          They were playing some games

 

Passive = S (direct object) + was/were + being + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

 

-          A lot of method was being used by the researcher

-          A job was being looked by me

-          Some games were being played by them

 

 

6.       Past Perfect Tense

 

Active = S + had + V3 (past participle) + direct object

 

-          She had sung a song

-          I had studied this math theories.

-          They had looked for some meal

 

Passive = S (direct object) + had + been + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

 

-          A song had been sung by her.

-          Math theories had been studied by me

-          Some meal had been looked by them

 

7.       Simple Future Tense

 

Active = S + will/shall + V1 (bare infinitive) + direct object

                                S + to be + going to + V1 (bare infinitive) + direct object

 

-          She will show you something good

-          They are going to look for some meal

 

Passive = S (direct object) + will/shall + be + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

                       S (direct object) + to be + going to + be + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

 

-          You will be shown something good by her

-          Some meal is going to be looked by them

 

8.       Future Perfect Tense

 

Active = S + will/shall + have + V3 (past participle) + direct object

 

-          She will have shown you something good

-          They will have looked for some meal

 

Passive = S (direct object) + will/shall + have + been + V3 (past participle) +/- by… (Agent)

 

-          You will have been shown something good by her

-          Some meal have been looked by them

PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS

            Tense ini di gunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang dimulai di masa lalu dan sedang berlangsung di masa lalu sampai di titik tertentu di masa lalu itu juga, simple nya seperti ini, kita sedang menungggu teman kita saat bulan lalu dan kita masih akan tetap menunggu teman kita datang pada waktu itu (bulan lalu), kegiatan tersebut masih akan kita lakukan sampai teman kita datang tapi pada alur waktu di masa lalu, kita berhenti menunggu jika teman kita telah datang dan tetap pada alur waktu yang sama yaitu di masa lalu.   Rumus: -           (+) s+ had + been + V1 + ing (-) s + had + not + been + V1 + ing (?) PAST PERFECT TENSE

                      Tense ini digunakan untuk menyatakan kegiatan yang sudah selesai di masa lalu sebelum kegiatan lainnya terjadi. Simpelnya begini nih, kalau present perfect menyatakan kegiatan yg terjadi pada masa lampau dan selesai pada waktu/masa sekarang, nah kalau untuk past perfect menyatakan kegiatan yang telah selesai di masa lampau dan selesai di masa lampau itu juga, jadi intinya kegiatannya itu terjadi dan selesai di waktu yang sama (timeline yang sama) yaitu pada masa lalu.   Rumus: -           (+) s + had + V3 (-) s + had + not + V3 (?) had + s + V3?   Ex: -           (+) My brother had slept (-) My brother had not slept (?)
